The members of the trust of a small Victorian Goldfields cemetery are worried they might personally be liable should someone be huirt, or worse, in the cemetery,
The Bendigo Advertiser reports
The walls of a creek running through the Vaughan Cemetery are crumbling and collapsing, leaving a drop of several metres from the overhang to the creek bed below.
Members of the Cemetery Trust responsible for managing the site fear that the unstable walls could cause someone to be injured, even killed.
They also fear that they may be personally liable should such a tragic event occur.
The trust has already spent thousands on engineers' reports, supported with funding from the Department of Health and Human Services, and is facing thousands more to finalise the solution.
It's a heavy burden on a small B-Class Cemetery Trust.
