Springvale Cemetery in Victoria  opened an on-site care and wellbeing centre, to help visitors grieve and connect.

It provides group grief counselling and information sessions on topics like internet banking, wills and estate planning, cooking and technology. There's also yoga, meditation, games mornings, movie afternoons, and regular walks through the cemetery's gardens.

"In today's lifestyle we don't have the ritual, the ceremonies, the traditions that we used to have, so people are a little bit lost, the isolation is prevalent," says Dianne Lee, the centre's manager. That feeling of isolation is familiar to Val, who found it hard to talk with others about her daughter's death.
