More than 40 sculptures will be hidden in suburban Sydney's Rockwood Cemetery – the largest necropolis in the Southern Hemisphere – as part of HIDDEN – A Rookwood Sculpture Walk.
Hosted by Rockwood General Cemeteries Reserve Trust, and celebrating the cemetery's 150th anniversary, this year's HIDDEN is the ninth such exhibition to date.
Established in 2009, HIDDEN was initiated as a unique platform to pique community interest in the cemetery and its history, by showcasing artworks against the backdrop of Rookwood’s impressive architecture, historic monuments and gardens.
Newly appointed co-curator Nick Vickers has joined long standing curator Cassandra Hard Lawrie to oversee the exhibition. Vickers brings with him over 30 years of experience in the Australian arts industry, having established his first gallery in 1984.
