The Cemeteries & Crematoria NSW (CCNSW) Board is committed to engaging with the community to facilitate consultation and enhance decision making. The establishment of the Community Consultative Group will provide an opportunity for the CCNSW Board and Agency to formally engage with community representatives on a regular basis.
In October 2015, the Minister for Primary Industries launched the Cemeteries and Crematoria NSW (CCNSW) inaugural Strategic Plan. The Strategic Plan sets the NSW Government’s vision for the cemetery and crematoria sector for the next five years.
Community and consumer representatives are key partners towards achieving strategic targets and implementing priority actions outlined in the CCNSW Strategic Plan. Therefore, the CCNSW Board has determined to convene a Community Consultative Group with representatives of major faith, cultural and consumer groups to represent the diversity of the NSW community.
The Community Consultative Group (CCG) will be a high level committee, appointed in an advisory and volunteer capacity to the Board. It will discuss issues of interest and facilitate the exchange of ideas and information and will focus on policy and systemic matters that can be addressed by the CCNSW Board. The CCG will uphold the CCNSW priority areas of respect, availability, affordability and financial and environmental sustainability.
