Rookwood GenCemTrustIn terms of external communications, ABC have contacted RGCRT chairman Bob Wilson. As a result a statement has been prepared that will be shared with the ABC.

The Rookwood General Cemeteries Reserve Trust (RGCRT) welcomes the independent inquiry by Cemeteries and Crematoria NSW (CCNSW), as it aims to address some of the very things that we ourselves are striving to resolve and eliminate, being pricing and governance issues.

Following the 2012 amalgamation at Rookwood Cemetery, the RGCRT inherited an array of different services from the former five Trusts, each with their own pricing structures. Since this time the new Trust has endeavoured to consolidate services, create consistent pricing, and eliminate cross subsidies between community groups. To this end, the RGCRT has itself commissioned an independent expert to investigate the extent to which cross subsidisation is occurring. This study will be submitted to the pricing review.
