The Australian reports; NOISY prayers, feral animals, flood risks and avian flu — these are some of the arguments against establishing an Islamic cemetery north of Adelaide.

 One opponent of the proposed graveyard also claimed that “scared householders” would desert Two Wells if a large Muslim community moved into the area.

The Mallala Council this month rejected the Imam Ali Mosque and Islamic Centre of SA’s application to construct the cemetery on the corner of Port Wakefield Rd and Porter St, north of Two Wells.

The $400,000 proposal included a graveyard, store rooms, an office, a carpark, and an area for washing and preparing bodies for burial.
