headstonesA guide to the history and heritage of Victoria's cemeteries will be launched today in what the State Government calls an Australian first.

The guide features the stories of prominent Australians buried in the state's graveyards, from early explorers Burke and Wills, to soldiers who served in World War I.

"It's important that we're able to know what has happened to so many of the people in our cemeteries," he said.
