Cemetery staff pull out all the stops to make sure the public sees one of Sydney's oldest and largest cemeteries at its best.
Between 10am and 3pm visitors can take guided bus and walking tours of points of interest such as the Stations of the Cross, the Gardens of the Pieta Mausoleum and the Karinya children's garden, and free horse and carriage rides.
There are heritage talks and photos, a behind-the-scenes tour of the crematorium, a mock medieval battle and a display of grave digging equipment.
There will be an ice-cream truck, sausage sizzle and face painting for the children.
Caricaturist Brett Bower will sketch people in queues.
