Hidden in the burial grounds of the historic Rookwood Cemetery, 40 artists have created works that explore the notion of life and love, death and loss, memory and mortality, in an exhibition established to enliven this iconic site.
Rookwood Cemetery is renowned for being one of the oldest and certainly the largest cemetery in Australia. Conducting over 5,500 burials and cremations annually, Rookwood caters for approximately 90 different denominations and is viewed as a physical manifestation of the rich cultural tapestry that forms our nation today.
Hidden - A Rookwood Sculpture Walk is an outdoor sculpture project that was developed by Rookwood General Cemetery Trust as a community engagement project that enables us to connect with our visitors and surrounding community.
