Human bones were uncovered in UK backyard after a church graveyard mentioned in the novel Dracula subsided after a landslide.

The graveyard at St Mary's church in the Yorkshire town of Whitby began to collapse off a cliff after torrential rains hit the area in November.

The church cemetery dates to 1110 AD and many of the graves were exposed after debris began to fall last month.

Local kipper smokehouse owner Barry Brown, 65, told The Guardian he had found several bones at the back of his property.
