  • Bold new strategy launched to secure NSW’s water future

The NSW Government has launched a bold new 20-year strategy to secure the state’s water resources. The focus is on ensuring water security for NSW communities, industries and environment to thrive, now and into the future. This strategy will guide how we respond to a changing climate and increased demand for water. It includes planning for new supply options such as stormwater harvesting and recycling as well as guiding decisions on how, where and what water infrastructure investments are made.

  • Draft Greater Sydney Water Strategy now released for community consultation

The NSW Government has released the draft Greater Sydney Water Strategyfor public comment. The draft strategy is a long-term plan to ensure a resilient and secure water supply for the people of Sydney, the Illawarra and Blue Mountains.

  • Drought Update from NSW Government

All of NSW is now effectively in drought, with widespread fires and possible extreme temperatures making the situation worse. Water shortages are no longer confined to the west of the Great Dividing Range, with coastal areas now at risk. Some coastal rivers have ceased to flow, or have record-breaking low flows, and many commercial licence holders are no longer permitted to pump because of low river levels.

  • Sydney Water: Level 1 water restrictions now in place

You may be aware the NSW Government has announced that Level 1 waterrestrictions came into effect 1 June 2019.  Water restrictions target outdoor water use and will apply to everyone, residential and industry.
