During the First World War, around 60,000 Anzacs were killed or died overseas and will forever lie in foreign soil. We will remember them. But did you know that of the thousands of servicemen and women who survived hostilities and returned Australia, many now lie peacefully right here in the Sutherland Shire?
Just off the back of History Week we will look at the different types of soldiers’ graves and memorials found at Woronora Memorial Park; examine the history behind how these headstones came to exist; and reveal some of the fascinating stories of the men and women they represent.
This presentation will be broadcast online using Zoom. Book your place and we’ll send you a Zoom link to join the meeting
